of extension of 3- and 5-bit Quantum Repetition Code

(November 2023 - March 2025)

Supervised by Dr. Saifur Rahman

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology

We investigated into an extension of the traditional decoder circuit or 3- and 5-bit Quantum Repetition Codes on tri- and pentapartite GHZ states. The encoder circuit was the simple quantum repetition code circuit but we extended the decoder. We found that the ideal GHZ states were protected completely for all error probabilites in a bit flip channel while the 5-bit QRC on pentapartite GHZ state performed the best on general states.

Sparse Electric Load Dataset Reconstruction and Forecasting

(February 2024 - Present)

Supervised by Dr. Hafiz Imtiaz

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology

We used Machine Learning and other techniques to reconstruct the sparse load dataset of the BUET electric power plant and predicting future loads by learning from the dataset. Compressed sensing and Gaussian methods were used for reconstruction and finally Gaussian interpolation was chosen as reconstruction method. The very sparse dataset was at first reconstructed then machine learning models were trained on the data. A sequence of original load data (not included in the training data) was used to evaluate the models. LSTM performed best with about 11% MAPE while other RNN models like Transformers, BiLSTM had performance close to this.
